Gloves do not make you a wuss and bandaids do not make you look like a Bad A.

Back when I worked in the Oil Field I would never do anything without a pair of good gloves on to protect my hands.  When I started in Crossfit gloves were not something that many people used and typically in the circles I worked out with they made fun of people who wore gloves.  Now that being said I have to say that something you just need to get a little tough and forget the gloves.  However there are time when gloves are very important and today I think I will be going out and buying myself a good pair of gloves to use for wods like the one I did today. I woke up this morning and went to the lake where I have been doing most of my running in the last couple of weeks.  It was cold and windy and running did not feel right.  Basically I wussed out it happens there will be those days.  So I went to the box to get my work out in planning on doing some rowing to make up for the lack of running.  So the way I treat myself in WODS is that going slow is ok...
The plan right now for working out is Monday Wed will be longer run and more typical Crossfit WODs after then Tuesday and Thursday will be more running based WOD's and then Friday will be lighter days and Saturday will be distance runs.  So today was more of a body weight running wod. Warm Up 1.25 mile run at 8 min pace Strength Working Overhead squats WOD 400 Meter Run Cal Row Sit Ups Pull Ups Dips Push ups Box Jumps (Landing in a Squat on top of the box) 400 meter run stays constant The rest of the work is working down from 15 for 45 minutes as far down as you can go.  I got through 4 rounds and finished the run, row, sit ups and push ups on the fifth round before time ran out.

Getting back into it

Figure this is a good way to track my progress and keep everyone informed on what I am doing.  Spent about seven weeks in San Antonio and during that time I focused more on running than anything else.  got back up to about eight miles while down there.  Now the trick is get used to running in florida and start building up my distance here.  Here is today's work out not the best but a light day is still an ok day. Warm Up 2 mile run at a 8:30 pace Wod 12 Minutes AMRAP 5 Bench Press @ 195 5 L Sit Pulls ups on rings Then Tabatta Rowing Like I said light day but really was not feeling the best today so a day at the gym is better than a day on the sofa!
